Meet the Team
Dr Elzette RossouwVeterinarian - Partner
I am the mother of 2 cats and 2 unruly Jack Russells. I have been with the team since 2007 and, despite all the grey hair gained, I love the privilege of really getting to know my patients and walking the road with them. I have a keen interest in ultrasonography and internal medicine.
Dr Alet EngelbrechtVeterinarian - Partner
After qualifying in 2003, I worked in the UK for 8 years, gaining valuable experience in veterinary science, as well as pursuing my love for backpacking and travelling. I have 2 cats, Winnie and Melo, and enjoy cooking, hiking and reading in my free time. My special interests are soft tissue surgery and dentistry.
Dr Madré RheederVeterinarian
I love all animals big and small but I hold a special place in my heart for my two rabbits, Noodle and Weasley. During my free time, I love spending time outdoors (hiking, gardening and kayaking), watercolour painting and socialising with friends and family. Professionally, I have a keen interest in soft tissue surgery.
Sr Jess JoosteVeterinary Nurse
My name is Jess. I'm a veterinary nurse originally hailing from the Eastern Cape. I studied a B.Sc. and a post-graduate certificate in education before pursuing my veterinary career. I am the mum to the most adorable Staffie named Abby. In my free time, I enjoy being in nature, gardening and reading.
Belinda van EedenReceptionist
After 7 years at the Animal Welfare Society, I was blessed to join the Durbanville Animal Hospital Team in 2006. I share my life with my partner Marius and 2 Pugs, Archie and Alice. They teach me daily about unconditional love, patience, dog hair is a fashion and it is okay to be obsessed with treats.
Grandmother to 4 gorgeous grandchildren - 2 in Chicago and 2 in London! I am an avid sports fan and also enjoy baking, cooking and crossword puzzles. I started at Durbanville Animal Hospital in 2008 and enjoy assisting our wonderful clients & their precious pets. I also have a passion for horses.
Marelize van StadeReceptionist
I am the newest addition to the Durbanville Animal Hospital family. Being a fiancé, mother of 4 children and 4 fur babies, I love to keep my environment positive and full of joy. I am a hiker by heart and I love to travel. I would never change my position for I have a passion for animals.
Jane BezuidenhoutPractice Manager
I’m the Practice Manager for Durbanville Animal Hospital. I have been part of the growth of this busy practice since 1994 and have watched the staff grow and develop over the years. I’m a Sagittarius/Capricorn by birth, which means I am organised, wise and dedicated to my career, but have itchy feet and like to travel. At home I like to garden and read and take my elderly pooch, Molly, for afternoon walks. I also enjoy swimming, either in the sea in Mauritius or in my local pool doing aqua-aerobics. Presently I am attempting to learn French, which is proving to be difficult. I hope to continue organising the staff at DAH for many years to come.
Regan van GeeKennel Assistant
I started working at Durbanville Animal Hospital in 2016 after years of working in pet shops. I have 2 beautiful dogs, Nompriechie and Sheba, and am adored by the cats in my neighbourhood.

I started working at Durbanville Animal Hospital in 1986 with Dr Mendelsohn. I have 2 pets of my own, 2 dogs Base and Mini. I enjoy watching soccer, boxing, tennis and rugby.
Khaya MalimaKennel Assistant
My name is Khaya. I'm a quiet individual who loves animals. I'm a creative type who enjoys cooking new meals and experimenting with different flavours. I've just discovered a new passion: longboarding. I love rapping and I'm a huge hip-hop fan. I own 3 crossbreed dogs (2 of which I adopted) and one cat.
Chrissie ClassenKennel Assistant
My full name is Christeline, but I go by Chrissie. I enjoy working with animals, but my favourite part of the job is working in theatre. In my free time, I like taking my 3 dogs for a walk, accompanied by my son. I also like to read and relax at home.
